CompuPic is a well-done 32-bit multimedia file manager, thumbnail creator, and viewer with image-editing capabilities. It supports a multitude of formats, including .avi, .bmp, .dib., .fli, .flc., .flx., .gif., .jpg, .mid, .mov, .mmm, .mpg, .pcd, .png, .pcx., .rle, .rmi, .tga, ASCII, .tif, and .wav. Using a friendly, Explorer-like interface, you can create slideshows and picture indexes with little fuss. CompuPic also has built-in screen capturing, digital camera, and scanner support and wallpaper creation. Another nice extra: You can use the program to change your wallpaper at regular intervals and as a screen saver to cycle images in slideshow mode. You might wish that its file-management commands were a little closer to Win95's Explorer and that more commands were accessible via toolbar, but CompuPic is a great tool if you work with multimedia. This evaluation copy is fully functional for 15 days from installation; after that, you won't be able to save modified images or create wallpaper. A 16-bit edition is also available. This version has not yet been reviewed.
